Transparent screens are just one the latest innovations available for digital signage displays. In essence, they provide a second layer of visual information while still allowing the background information to be seen fairly easily. There are many applications where transparent screens are ideal. Here are a few of the more noteworthy:
Consumer goods – Most consumers will initially encounter transparent screens in a retail setting such as on the doors of a refrigerated cooler in a convenience store. Instead of placing paper decals on the glass door – that, not incidentally, block the view of the product – a transparent screen can be used to show prices and any specials associated with the product but it can still be completely viewed. This technology is really very cool – please pardon the pun!
Specialty retail – The second layer of visual interest added by a transparent screen allows some faux – but convincing! – 3D elements to be added to a display. For instance, a golf club can be shown while in use with the appropriate benefits being featured. The enhanced grip, the flexibility of the shaft and the sweet spot can all be highlighted in a slow ballet of motion. It can be a very compelling experience for the shopper. In other words, a transparent screen can really bring a product to life.
Hotels – In a similar vein, the amenities available at hotels, spas and casinos can be effectively highlighted in areas where guests are inclined to congregate such as the lobby, the elevators, the pool and the bar. With simulated graphics, the benefits of in-room massages, gambling and other exciting events can be represented in a quite dynamic way while still displaying the more salient facts – like pricing and availability – in the background.
Medical practices – The science and mechanics of medicine is somewhat arcane to the average person. Transparent signs offer an incredible opportunity to show “before and after” graphics of a particular procedure. You can also demonstrate like enhanced mobility after carpal tunnel or hip replacement surgery. The real beauty of this technology is that the patient does not go into the operation uninformed or with an unneeded degree of fear.
