Why Use an Authenticator App?
We’re excited to announce that iGotcha Signage now supports authenticator apps for two-factor authentication (2FA), giving users a faster, more secure way to log in to the CMS.
You can now use popular authenticator apps such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, and other major TOTP-based apps instead of relying on SMS or email codes.
Authenticator-based login adds an extra layer of security while also improving the login experience.
Key Benefits
Stronger security
- Authenticator apps use time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) that refresh every few seconds.
- Unlike SMS or email codes, these are not vulnerable to SIM swapping or email compromise.
Faster logins
- No waiting for text messages or emails to arrive.
- Codes are instantly available on your phone.
Works offline
- Authenticator apps don’t require a cellular signal once set up.
- Ideal for secure or restricted network environments.
Widely supported
- Compatible with trusted apps like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, and more.
