The MEM – Centre des mémoires montréalaises, located in the heart of Quartier des Spectacles at the intersection of Boulevard Saint-Laurent and Rue Sainte-Catherine, celebrates Montreal’s identity and history. This vibrant cultural center sought to modernize its spaces, improving their reflection of the city’s cultural diversity while providing an immersive experience for its visitors.

To meet these needs, we collaborated with the MEM to develop an innovative solution centred on integrating LG’s advanced transparent LED film technology. This transformed the museum’s windows into interactive digital displays, maintaining natural light and the inviting atmosphere of the space.

Process

The MEM aimed to embrace modern technologies to dynamically highlight its historical and cultural content while enhancing the attractiveness of its spaces. To achieve this goal, we conducted an in-depth analysis to select a technology compatible with the building’s architecture while meeting both aesthetic and functional requirements. Transparency and visual quality were identified as essential priorities to reflect the museum’s unique identity.

Working closely with the MEM team, we designed a seamless solution that integrated LG LAT140 transparent LED films, a cutting-edge display technology known for its high performance and adaptability. This technology was tailored to fit perfectly within the museum’s physical and digital spaces, creating an immersive and engaging experience for visitors.
